Eliana Hourmouziadou
Born in 1965, Eliana Hourmouziadou has led a life dedicated to books. After her studies in French Literature, she published her debut novel The Neighborhood of Good Thieves at the young age of 24 and was fortunate enough to come in contact with the great literary group of Kedros Publications and, especially, Menis Koumandareas. Her acclaimed 1998 novel The Secretary caused a stir in the Greek literary world and was followed by a novella, a novel and a children’s book. Then, Hourmouziadou stepped back from writing for 17 years. She continued her long and successful career as an editor for the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation and, in 2022, she made her return as an author with One Last Love Letter, a mature and important work that dares to stare the dawn of the 21st century in the face, grappling with difficult themes like survival after loss and the duality of loneliness and love, but also exploring the creative process itself and the therapeutic powers of literature.
