Danae Sioziou
Danae Sioziou is a multilingual poet, translator, and publisher with a “fearless and global” approach to poetry, according to The Guardian. Born in Karlsruhe in 1987, she studied English Literature, European History, and Cultural Management in Athens, Berlin, and London. In 2016, her debut poetry collection, Useful Children Games, received widespread acclaim, followed by Probable Landscapes in 2021 and Epistles in 2024. Her poems have been translated into more than fifteen languages and have appeared in prestigious literary journals, including Asymptote, The New York Review of Books, and World Literature Today. She has facilitated many artistic, cultural, and educational projects in Greece and in Europe, collaborating with local and international institutions, and is a member of the Book History Lab at the University of Athens. She has also published Greek translations of works by Susan Sontag, John Berger, Amitav Ghosh as well as German, African American and Aboriginal poets. In 2025, she co-founded Gennitria Publishing House in Athens together with Panagiotis Kehagias.
