Nikos Panagiotopoulos
Born in Athens in 1963, Nikos Panagiotopoulos studied civil engineering and worked as a journalist, but was soon drawn to fiction and screenwriting. His second novel, The Gene of Doubt, published in 1999, explores the elusive nature and dark attraction of talent, impressing critics in Greece and abroad. He has written or co-written screenplays for more than ten feature films, including Truants and The King by Nikos Grammatikos and Quiet Hours by Katerina Evangelakou. Since 1997, he has written three short story collections, the novella All Alone and three novels, Ziggy from Marfan – The Diary of an Alien, Icon and the widely celebrated The Children of Cain. His works have been translated in multiple languages. He has taught screenwriting courses at the Stavrakos Film School, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Film School, and the Creative Writing graduate and post-graduate programs of the Hellenic Open University. He has also participated in local and international script labs as a tutor, script editor and consultant.
