The 1st Athens International Literature Festival invites visitors to rethink the experience of literature beyond books and into a world of interactive exchange, nuanced discussion and open idea-sharing.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The AILF experience will take over the entire Technopolis City of Athens. Conversations, presentations, workshops, parties and unexpected events will spread an atmosphere of excitement across the venue, bringing together authors and readers, residents and visitors of Athens. The old gas plant will fill with the voices of the writers and the stories of the visitors in an endless stream of inspiration and creativity. <\/span><\/p>\n

Every moment is a chance to discover something new: a writer, a book, an idea. More than anything, the AILF experience is about the fun of participation and the joyous celebration of literature. <\/span><\/p>

Industrial Gas Museum<\/span><\/h4>\n

The old gas plant that provided energy and lighting to the capital for approximately 120 years has now become the Industrial Gas Museum, the best preserved gas plant in Europe and the only industrial monument that exhibits its entire mechanical equipment in situ. Visitors can follow the gas production process, touch the old machinery, and get to know about the working conditions at the plant and the history of Gazochori, the area that surrounds it. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the Old Watergas building, a unique 20<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> century industrial structure, you can find the Technopolis Caf\u00e9. Open all day, the caf\u00e9 serves coffee, wine and drinks that can pair nicely with light snacks and dishes inspired by the Mediterranean cuisine and the Greek culinary tradition. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
